The Zeiss Precise Eye Exam
Beverly Location
Everything you'd like to know about our advanced virtual eye exam — answered with care.
What is a Zeiss Precise eye exam?
The Zeiss Precise eye exam is a virtual comprehensive eye exam that uses advanced Zeiss diagnostic technology to evaluate your vision and eye health. Our trained technicians guide you through each test in our office, while a licensed optometrist reviews your results and finalizes your prescription remotely.
Can I do the exam from home?
No — your exam takes place right here in our office. The state-of-the-art equipment we use is essential for capturing the detailed measurements and images your doctor needs to assess your eye health and write an accurate prescription.
Can I use any insurance for this exam?
Yes! Zeiss Precise exams are contracted with the major vision plans — including VSP and EyeMed — at this location. Our team is happy to verify your benefits ahead of your appointment so there are no surprises.
How much does the exam cost if I'm not using insurance?
A comprehensive wellness check and glasses prescription is $65.00. If you're also being fit for contacts, an additional fee between $75.00 and $150.00 applies, which will be determined at the time of your exam based on the type of lenses you need.
How long should I expect an exam to take?
Our exams are very thorough and typically take between 45 minutes and an hour. If you're also being fitted for contact lenses, please plan for some additional time.
What type of eye problems is the Zeiss Precise exam best for?
The Zeiss Precise exam is ideal for annual, routine wellness checks — including glasses and contact lens prescriptions — for most adults and teens. For concerns like red eyes, ocular trauma, or eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration, an in-person provider is best suited to help.
If you are in pain or experiencing a sudden loss of vision, please contact your local ophthalmologist's office immediately.
Can I schedule with a particular doctor?
To offer flexible appointment times across our multiple locations, we aren't able to guarantee a spot with any specific doctor. During your Zeiss Precise Eye Exam, you may be seen by any of the wonderful licensed optometrists on our team:
Roster current as of May 1, 2026.
Why might I choose a Zeiss Precise exam over a traditional in-person exam?
It's the same thorough, doctor-reviewed eye care — just with more flexibility. Zeiss Precise exams are wonderful for busy schedules, last-minute appointments, or whenever your favorite eye doctor isn't available in the office.
Is a Zeiss Precise exam as accurate as a traditional exam?
Absolutely. Zeiss is a global leader in optical precision, and our exam uses the same diagnostic standards as a traditional visit. Every result is carefully reviewed and verified by a licensed optometrist before your prescription is finalized.
What technology is used during the exam?
We use Zeiss's advanced suite of diagnostic instruments for refraction, retinal imaging, and other essential vision tests. All of your data is transmitted securely to your reviewing optometrist, ensuring both accuracy and privacy at every step.
Can I still pick out new glasses or contacts after my exam?
Of course! Once your prescription is finalized, our opticians are right here to help you choose from our curated designer eyewear collections and premium lens options — exactly the way you would after any other eye exam.
